London institutions receive $5.5 million for medical training and research
University of Western Ontario alumni Donald Rix donated $2 million to the university's medical school. The funds will go toward the clinical skills learning building named after him at the UWO Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. In addition, three other London institutions - the London Health Sciences Centre, the Lawson Health Research Institute, and the Robarts Research Institute - will share a $3.5-million gift from the late Michael Halls. This is on top of $1.5 million that Halls donated to the organizations in 2001. The funding will create the Michael Halls Centre for ALS Research and the Arthur J. Hudson Chair in ALS Research.| Posted On: Thursday, September 29, 2005 Modified: Thursday, September 29, 2005 Category: ALS Research Posted By: |
