A poignant, inspirational story of an Ontario woman's personal and public crusade against one of the most heinous diseases known to man, the medical world's forgotten killer....ALS. There is no cure or viable treatment for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a progressively paralyzing neuromuscular disease that is usually fatal in two to five years. It is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. This documentary beautifully illustrates the strenght of the human spirit, galvanized by family and friends, the power of humor and imagination, and the overwhelming response of a community to one woman's cry for help on behalf of those whose voices have been silenced.
