David Cameron - President & CEO
David Cameron joined the ALS Society of Canada in September 2003 as President & CEO. He has over 25 years' experience in the not-for-profit sector, having been responsible for the Ontario Division of the Canadian Diabetes Association for five years and the Purchasing Management Association of Canada for ten years.
David's vision for AL S Canada is to expand its research mandate across a broader spectrum of initiatives and partnerships while encouraging youth within the research community to become engaged in ALS science. The investment made in research by ALS Canada since 2003 has more than tripled.
Supported by a volunteer Board of Directors of twenty-four, the past five years have seen the development of several fellowships in ALS basic science, the first fellowship in ALS clinical work, support for the creation of the first consortium of ALS clinics in Canada, funding of the first ALS clinical trial in Canada and the expansion of the annual research forum to bring over 100 ALS scientists, physicians, and students together.
