We are taking to the streets, pathways, sidewalks and parks across Canada to raise money for breakthrough ALS research and services to support those living with ALS and their families. We need you to join us.
WALK for ALS is a fun, family friendly event that occurs across the country each year in more than 83 communities and is organized by local volunteers. In 2012 the Walk generated over $3.2 million, thanks to more than 19,000 walkers and more than 185,000 donors.
All participants will be encouraged to solicit donations. To make fundraising easy, each participant that registers on-line is able to set up a personal web-page with access to on-line fund raising tools.
|This year marks the largest turnout for ALS Canada's Charity Golf Classic," says Lindee David, CEO, ALS Canada. "I am grateful to see so many new and returning sponsors, as they play an important role in the success of our event and help us to put an end to this devastating disease," says Enzo Raponi, director of development, ALS Canada.
This years ALS Charity Golf Classic was held at Angus Glen in Markham - the only golf club in North America to host a national Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) championship on each of its golf courses. Golfers were given the opportunity to play on the renowned north course (where the 2002 and 2007 Canadian Open was held), as well as the south course.
An annual event for ALS Canada, the Charity Golf Classic tournament brings people from all across Ontario to try their hand at golf, while raising awareness and much needed funds for ALS.
|Across Canada, many individuals and organizations generously give of their time to create and host fundraising events and activities to raise money in support of ALS Canada. If you would like to host your own event, please contact Enzo Raponi, Director of Development, at 1-800-267-4257 or 905-248-2052 x205, email@example.com, or Andrew Romano, Manager, Events, x210, firstname.lastname@example.org.

Choosing Your Event:
When choosing your event keep in mind your unique personality, what you are trying to achieve and the resources that you have available at your disposal. There are many different kinds of events to choose from. Golf tournaments, bowl-a-thons or comedy nights are all great choices. If you were thinking of something much smaller in scale, a bake sale, garage sale or car wash can be just as effective and the funds raised are always appreciated.
Most people living with ALS lose some or complete use of their
hands and legs within the first 2 years of their diagnosis.
What Would You Do, While You Still Could?
There are many activities they would like to do while they still could, and activities that friends and family may want to do on their behalf.
ALS Canada encourages people to participate in the activity of their choice or set up a fund and raise money both to help people living with ALS and to find a cure.
