Tom's Trooper's

Dear Friends And Family.

It is once again that time of year where the few members of Tom's Troopers gather together to walk in the annual  km Walk for ALS.  Tom's Trooper's have faithfully walked in this annual event for the last  4 years trying to raise money for research for ALS,  As you all know we are closing in on the 3 year anniversary on my dad Tom's death from this relentless disease.  Since we started participating in the walk 4 years ago, many people continue to die a slow ,horrible death from this disease. Although several major steps have been made with the funds from the research there is still No Cure, still No Cause and still this disease remains100% FATAL IN EVERY CASE. This is why we need your help. If you can not join us on Septemeber 30th in London for the walk maybe you can participate by donating to our cause.
Now that Rob and I are expecting our second child in December, it really hits home what it is going to be like to explain to the new child what happened to Grandpa. Thats why it is so important that we help find a cure.  It is not fair for any child to lose or never even know their Grandpa.
We all miss my Dad tremendously, and whoever said it gets easier with time, or time heals all wounds, surely did not know how great my father was. Now that three years have almost passed, most of the wounds of not healed, and how could they be watching a man who did everything for everyone be confined to a wheelchair within weeks of diagnosis.  Watching the man who held his family together, who took care of friends and put everyones needs before his, have to count so much on others. From simple things like getting dressed, turning on the t.v and being fed he had to count on us for the first time, he was no longer his pillar of strength that he had always been.  Luckily my Dad only had to suffer 6 short months, but it was 6 months too long to watch our "superman" fade away.
Please do what you can to support and maybe one day nobody will have have to lose their grandpa again.
Thank you for your continued support
Sincerely
Shelley and the Miller Family
