HOLDING OR HOSTING AN EVENT? KNOW SOMEONE OR A COMPANY WHO IS?

PLEASE CONSIDER A FUNDRAISER IN SUPPORT OF ALS

You can provide Hope through research and Help to people living with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) through a fundraising event supporting the ALS Society of Canada. Golf tournaments, garage sales, family or company celebrations are just a few ideas for holding a fundraising event in support of ALS research and care.

ALS is a devastating disease and needs more attention. People with ALS can only hope that one day a cure or treatment will be discovered for them and for the tens of thousands of Canadians alive and healthy today that will die from ALS.

- Two to three Canadians a day die from ALS
- ALS can strike anyone, regardless of age, sex or ethnic origin
- 80 percent of people with ALS die within 5 years of diagnosis
- ALS is a costly disease that affects patients and their families - emotionally, physically and financially

The ALS Society of Canada raises funds for research into the cause and towards a cure for ALS.  It also works to raise public awareness and supports Provincial partners in the provision of quality care for those affected by ALS.

Choosing Your Event:
When choosing your event keep in mind your unique personality, what you are trying to achieve and the resources that you have available at your disposal. There are many different kinds of events to choose from. Golf tournaments, bowl-a-thons, comedy nights are all great choices. If you were thinking of something much smaller in scale a bake sale, garage sale, or car wash can be just as effective and the funds raised are always appreciated.

Some Great Event Ideas:
Host a fundraising dinner for friends; Host a Bridge Tournament; Organize a Baseball Tournament; Organize a Bowl-a-thon;
Organize a golf tournament; Hold a Garage sale; Organize a Bake sale; Pet walking for your neighbours;
Set up a Car wash; Create a Non-event; Organize a Speed dating session;
