Volunteer

As a charitable organization, ALS Canada relies on the time and talents of dedicated volunteers in so many ways. Volunteers play a vital role at our office and at fundraising events. Our Board of Directors and advisors are volunteers, too!

With ALS research momentum growing and thousands of people and families with ALS benefiting from the support and services we offer, there has never been a better time to show your support of our shared cause by volunteering with ALS Canada.

To be considered for a volunteer role, please download, complete and follow the instructions contained in ALS Canada’s Volunteer Application Form.

Board of Directors – Call for Nominations

The Board of Directors provides leadership to the organization by defining its strategic direction, stewarding its resources, providing oversight to the volunteer engagement and ensuring accountability to the community and to the public. Currently, we are recruiting three leadership volunteers to serve on the ALS Canada Board of Directors, and to complement the skills of current Directors, we are seeking subject matter expertise in finance and investments, corporate governance, legal and risk management, and health policy/health systems, as well as lived ALS experience to contribute strategically to the organization’s governance. Nomination deadline is March 2, 2021. Review the Board of Directors Nominations package for more information.

ALS Canada ambassadors

ALS Canada is fortunate to have volunteer ambassadors across Ontario. They help to connect our organization with the ALS community, and are available to speak at events and help raise ALS awareness. If you would like to request an Ambassador for your event, or become one yourself, please email ambassadors@als.ca.

To apply for or to learn more about volunteer opportunities in Ontario, please email volunteer@als.ca. While we can’t guarantee we’ll have the right opportunity for everyone, we very much welcome and appreciate your offer of support and will do our best to match you to a role. For volunteer opportunities in other provinces, please contact your provincial society.
